Storybooks and Quilts to Go

Nechia Dawson - Chair

Introducing children to quilting traditions one storybook and quilt at a time.

The Greater San Antonio Quilt Guild has purchased children’s storybooks with quilt-related themes. Guild member volunteers have made small quilts to complement each book. At present the collection includes forty-one books for children and five resource books for teachers and librarians. As additional books are purchased and/or donated corresponding quilts are designed and constructed by guild members. During the school year the storybooks and quilts are loaned to local schools and libraries where teachers and librarians share them with students. During the summer the collection is available for use by libraries, museums, and children’s groups.
